It all started...

Long story short...in February I noticed a discharge and pain in my left breast.  I went to see my regular doctor at the VA and she prescribed me an antibiotic (I didn't tell her this but I had a feeling it wouldn't work).  One month later, the discharge was still there so she scheduled a mammogram.

In the non-veteran world I would have had this appointment within two weeks, but in my world I couldn't get in till August.  I hated doing this but after a few days of stalking and numerous phone calls I was able to move my appointment to April 4th...woo hoo for stalking : )

Dealing with the VA hospital is a nightmare.  It is so difficult to get a human on the phone.  And if you do, you are looking at a five- to eight-week minimal wait on getting an appointment.  And if you keep that appointment, you are looking at an all day event waiting and waiting and waiting, no matter what time you get there.  I could go on forever about my trips to the VA but that's a whole different blog.
